Ground Turmeric

Musky tart flavour with a slight ginger aroma. Imparts a vivid deep yellow colour but is far more than a natural colourant. Extensively used in Asia and the Middle East to flavour and colour stews, and curries. A corner stone of Indian spice blends, used in Moroccan cuisine in tajines to spice meat, particularly lamb, and vegetables. It is also used in fish curries from South India, Sri-Lanka and beyond.

Use turmeric with care – though it is a natural vivid yellow, too much will impart a bitter powdery taste to your cooking.
