Saffron, organic

Strongly perfumed with the aroma of honey. Pungent heady floral flavour. It is popular in Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and Asian cuisine. Popular in rice dishes such as Indian pilau, biryani and risotto Milanese, and Spanish paella. Very little saffron is required for flavouring dishes due to its intense flavour and strong dying properties. Too much saffron will result in an unpleasant metallic aftertaste.

Use crushed in a pestle and mortar or steeps in a little hot water.
