Duck breast with five-spice

This recipe is so simple and delicious.
The duck breast can be cooked on the barbecue, adding a smokey elegance.

This eats well with stir fried vegetables, or simple salads.

tbsp Chinese five spice
1 Duck breast
Honey - to drizzle


Preheat the oven to 220-250C.

Score the duck breast, rub in a generous sprinkle of salt and the five spice on both the skin side or underside.

Place a frying pan on a high heat, allow to get very hot. Place the duck breast skin side down and allow to cook for a few minutes. Drain off all the fat and turn the breast onto an oven proof dish. Cook for about 10mins.

Once you take out the duck breast out of the oven drizzle with honey. Allow to rest and carve into thin slices.
